Kathryn Bikle is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Practitioner in Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area. She provides psychotherapy and SE® Trauma work for individuals, couples, children and families. She also works with groups and provides workshops for adults and teens.
Kathryn believes in supporting her clients’ psychological growth and healing of emotional wounds and trauma. In this way, she helps to empower them in making healthier and more productive choices for themselves and support who they are as individuals.
Her approach includes depth psychology techniques such as dream work, journaling, art therapy, and sand tray. She also uses mindfulness practices, such as embodied awareness, authentic voice and movement as well as Somatic Experiencing® Trauma techniques in helping clients to understand and work through stuck areas in their emotional, psychological, and physical lives.
In addition, Kathryn is trained as a theater director, actor, writer, teacher, and presentation skills coach. She provides workshops, coaching and classes for adults and children in a variety of areas including personal development, social skills, creativity, acting, public speaking, and communication.
For almost 20 years Kathryn has taught summer school, social skills workshops, and enrichment programs for children for a variety of schools and organizations including the Institute for Girls Development in Pasadena, at the Barnhart School in Arcadia, and St. Elizabeth Parish School in Altadena. She has also been teaching presentation skills courses to graduate and undergraduate students at Caltech since 1999.
Kathryn is the founder of Just Stand Up and Talk presentation skills coaching where she offers private coaching to individuals, groups, and professionals in Pasadena, throughout the greater Los Angeles area, and in Northern California.

What is Depth Psychology?
Depth Psychology is a therapy style that stems from the idea that people are more than just their bodies, thoughts and actions. From the Depth Psychology perspective, the mind, body and spirit are all connected and work together to support your health both inside and out. I work from the understanding that we have both conscious and unconscious parts to ourselves. Our conscious self is logical, liner and looks for concrete definitions. Our conscious self is concerned with what we think we should be doing in the world and how we think we should best appear to others. In contrast, our unconscious self is more instinctive, creative, and soulful.
