The ancient Greek Persephone/Demeter myth tells the story of the abduction of a young Goddess into the Underworld, her trials there, and her eventual reemergence to the Upper world. Using the Persephone myth as a template, this three-hour online embodiment workshop will help you take stock of your deep feelings about what is useful and valuable about your current life and what may need to change.
The winter solstice is a wonderful opportunity to align with the earth’s natural movement into winter. The longer hours of darkness, decay, and stillness make it a perfect time to take stock of one’s life and evaluate what to bring forward into the new year and what to leave behind.
Explore what a “descent” into the unconscious can reveal to you about your relationships, behavior patterns, health, goals, and ambitions. Learn psychodynamic and somatic modalities to use for yourself and with your clients. Explore images from the body and the unconscious and bring them into awareness through art, movement, voice, journaling. Discover how tracing the path of the 12th Century Chartres Cathedral labyrinth offers exploratory and processing techniques to help bring the riches of your unconscious into awareness for personal growth.
This workshop is appropriate for all levels and is recommended for therapists, healers, and anyone interested in a deep exploration of the psyche for personal growth.
